THE END OF THE MALL ERA

The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) has predicted that 73,000 stores will close their doors during the first half of 2009. Retail expert Burt Flickinger III, managing director of Strategic Resources Group, projects that 2,000 to 3,000 shopping malls and centers nationwide could go under this year.

As CNN Money has already predicted in 2003, "it is the end of the Mall Era".

So, why Italy is planning to open every day new malls?
Why the Bologna's County is planning to open 23 new malls?
